I have realized how selfish I am...

Philippians 2

vs. 3 "Do nothing out of selfish ambition of vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourself."

~Going throughout my day, who do I think about the most? myself...

~Who do I talk about the most? myself and what I am going through and what I am dealing with...

God says to humble yourself and think of others more than yourself-- and not only more but better than yourself!

vs. 4 "Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others."

~ So, go throughout your day looking for ways to put others above yourself-- in conversation and in your actions.

What I do throughout the day and what I talk about shows the focus of my heart... wow that is rebuking!

Lord,

Please forgive for my self-centeredness. Help me to "walk slowly through the crowd" seeing others needs and help me make myself available to meet what needs I can. I pray that my conversation would be centered around You! Thank you for meeting my biggest need -- a Savior from my sin. In Jesus' name, Amen

So, I was looking through some of my old notes and I found something I had written a long time ago it may have been in a sermon or just in devos I don't remember... but whatever the case it was such an encouragement and a reminder so here ya go! I hope it encourages your heart...

"God is not good because He makes everything "better" -- He doesn't. He is not a bandaid. God is GOOD because He is not leaving. "God will never leave you nor forsake you." and God says to remember and share His love because He sees the hurt and wants to heal our hearts. God wants me to trust Him in good and bad. Am I willing to let the love of God affect me?"

Sorry if the thoughts are a little scattered... kinda the way it works with me

Hey! I hope that everyone is doing well! This past week has been pretty good except that I haven't felt all that great... so if you think about it I would really appreciate your prayers! but God is continuing to show me more about Himself and it is sooo amazing to get into His Word and learn more about Him and be able to get closer to Him through His Word! ok so I was reading Psalm 37 today and one of the verses made me think...

vs. 4 "Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart."

ok i am not sure who told me this and maybe more than one person did so if i am quoting you... thank you! "If we delight ourselves in the Lord, make Him our desire, than His desires will be our desires..." in other words if we make God our everything He will give us the things that we truly desire in our hearts, because those things will be right in line with His perfect will! that was so cool to me, because I have found myself seeking what I want and what I desired and it did not work out at all and in the end i wasn't even truly happy... but once I got my focus on Him and His Word and what He wanted me to do than He began to work and is doing things I could never have imagined! now that certainly does not mean I don't still seek my own way once in a while cause believe me i do... but it just means that when I am completely focused on Him He gives me a desire to do ministry, and to see people come to Him, and to encourage others, and to be the right kind of friend... ok i hope that made sense!

God is always good! Praise Him for Who He is and all of the wonderful things He is doing!!!

A huge praise!!! two kids from our church got saved tonight!!! Praise the Lord!!!

Psalm 36

vs. 5 "Your love, O Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies."

vs. 6 "Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your justice like the great deep..."

vs. 9 "For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light."

God is always good! Have a great day!!!

ok so I am so pumped! God has been doing an amazing work in my life... It is so cool to be able to see Him in everything! ok so I will just share the verses!

Psalm 33

Vs. 4 "For the Word of the Lord is right and true; He is faithful in all He does."

What does faithful mean to you? constant? unchanging? always there?

vs. 6 "By the Word of the Lord were the Heavens made, their starry host by the breath of His mouth."

Up here in the middle of nowhere... I can see millions upon millions of stars! I cannot even fathom the number nor can I fathom the details of each one... God in His infinite power breathed them into existence... Now come on now think... When you breath can you make galaxies of stars come to be??? hmm... nope! So, if He has that much power why is it that we cannot trust Him with everything? and why is it that we don't praise Him with everything that we are? why is it that we don't worship Him as we ought?

vs. 7 "He gathers the waters of the sea into jars; He puts the deep into storehouses."

ok stop! Go back and read that verse again... are you picturing what I am picturing??? the seas, the oceans, all the water... in jars??? We serve a BIG, POWERFUL GOD!!! So, why don't we serve Him with our whole hearts?

vs. 8-9 "Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the people of the world revere Him. For He spoke and it came to be; He commanded and it stood firm."

I think those verses sum everything up pretty well don't you?
